The opening of Revolution in 1979 saw the park collaborate with Arrow Development once again. They had built the Steeplechase two years prior and several other rides including the Grand Prix, Alice in Wonderland and Log Flume before that.

For the Revolution, the company’s ‘Launched Loop’ concept was chosen, it featured big thrills and a small footprint, further reduced by a cantilevered support structure. Most notably, the ride featured a 56ft high vertical loop, the first in Europe.

The first such ride to open to the public was at Kings Island, Ohio as Demon in 1977 and in this document, the company is marketing the ride concept under the name ‘The Loop’ – it is unknown when the term ‘Launched Loop’ came into being. Eight were built and three continue to operate as of 2026.

The ride featured in the photographs is thought to be the ‘Double-O’, the prototype for the concept that after testing at Arrow’s factory, would move to the short lived Boardwalk & Baseball attraction in Florida.
