Arkive – Press Advert (1954)

This classic advert from 1954 shows the park’s press advert for the year, featured in the Ice Parade programme and other printed materials.

The reference to the Big Dipper being ‘more exciting than ever’ is due to the fire of the previous year that destroyed much of the station area, lift hill and first drop. When the ride reopened in 1954, it is thought that the ride was reconstructed largely as it was prior to the blaze. There may have been some minor changes that this wording is in reference to.
