As of today, the ‘hotel project’ is now officially the Big Blue Hotel. Plans to build a hotel were announced in April last year.
The name and branding was revealed today by special guest Digby Jones, director general of the Confederation of British Industry. Cutting a bright blue ribbon, he officially opened the dedicated information centre opposite Alice in Wonderland.
Speaking to the assembled press Mr Jones said “There is clearly a need for quality accomodation on the doorstep. Visitors staying here will not only spend money on the park, but will go home and tell everyone about the hotel.”
The project is due to open during the 2003 season at the southern end of the site.
