The Big Dipper has reopened today, as it celebrates its centennial year.

Originally opened in 1923, the ride has received a significant refurbishment including a complete cosmetic overhaul of the station. Much of the structure has also been repainted.

The park will be holding a party on 23rd August to celebrate the ride’s milestone year. The ride is the second oldest operating roller coaster in the country after Dreamland’s Scenic Railway, opening three years prior to the Pleasure Beach ride in 1920.
