Over the decades, the park has provided mini versions of a number of rides. With the introduction of the Turnpike in 1960, it was decided to build a junior version the following year.
The ride’s electric cars wound their way around the southwest corner of the Kiddie’s Park, later Beaver Creek. The track was modified in 1962 and with the introduction of Space Invader, the cars navigated a tunnel en-route.
For the 2011 season, after the closure of Beaver Creek for its transformation into Nickelodeon Land, the ride was rebuilt within the footprint of the Avalanche and reimagined into Alpine Rallye.
