The sale of The Star pub has completed today as the building changes hands from Bass Brewery to the Pleasure Beach company.
The sale price for the venue has not been disclosed but is believed to be somewhere in the £500,000 – £1million range. The building, dating from 1931, sits directly below the record breaking Pepsi Max Big One that is due to open later this year.
The venue is expected to be closed for a period of time for a renovation as it is integrated into the wider Pleasure Beach business. The site suffered a significant fire in 1990, but reopened quickly afterwards.
A reopening date under Pleasure Beach management is expected to be announced in due course.
