Blackpool has history when it comes to pioneering transport, after the introduction of the tramway in 1885. This evening was no different, with the official debut of the UK’s first monorail scheme. The new mile long Monorail system operates along the promenade, taking guests to the centre of the park.
Councillor Robert Brierley was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The £100,000 attraction has been welcoming guests since Whitsun, however this evening was the first time that all four trains have been in operation.
