Earlier today, the new Blackpool Pleasure Beach mainline railway station was officially opened offering services to the Fylde villages, Kirkham, Preston and beyond. It provides a vital link to the West Coast Mainline, allowing access to the park from London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow with only a single change at Preston.
The new station has been funded by the Pleasure Beach company, British Rail, Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Borough Council.
The station is on the same site as the former Burlington Road Halt station which was open between 1913 and 1939.
