YouTube Pick – Cyclone to Stampede

Cyclone was the park’s first steel roller coaster, opened in 1974. With plans for the Avalanche progressing, Cyclone would need to be removed to make way for the park’s supercool new attraction for 1988.

It was decided to move the ride to the company’s Morecambe park that was undergoing its significant transformation into Frontierland. Upon opening in Morecambe it would be known as Stampede and operated until the rear section of the park closed in 1998.
