THE STAGE

THURSDAY JUNE 16, 1949

At the Ice Drome, Pleasure Beach, Blackpool, Leonard Thompson presents "Ice Parade of 1949", his thirteenth successive season revue at the South end of Blackpool.
It is produced by Bettina Merson with costumes designed by Percy Metcalfe and executed by Lilian Hughes, with additional costumes by Morris Angel and Carrie Chart, and masks by Hugh Skillen.
The revue takes the form of an aerial tour of the world in 11 scenes of richly costumed elegance and ingenious settings.
From the Air Terminal visits are made to Venice, Spain, Bermuda, the Congo, South Sea Islands, China and South America, all depicted in a sparkling kaleidoscope of twisting and twirling experts on frozen water.
There are performers of international fame in Bissell and Farley, the graceful principals and others in a big ensemble are the Carraways, C. Brown, Tony Crook, Willie Jack, Collin Beatty, Harry Taylor, the Flying Comets and Matti and Zola, assisted by many soloists and a large corps de ballet.
Jack Marshall has arranged the music and is the musical director of the production.
