Arkive – Avalanche Opening Press Advert (1988)

The opening of the Avalanche in 1988 was a big moment for the park, perhaps gaining the most attention since the launch of the Revolution in 1979.

The ride was to be launched by Eddie The Eagle, who had gained significant attention at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Also on hand were the British Bobsled Team.

This press advert shows an accurate drawing of the ride’s famous station building, with a caricature of the VIP guest braving the ride.
