FLEETWOOD EXPRESS

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16, 1907

The Scenic Railway was opened yesterday and met with the most enthusiastic public patronage. Bad as the weather was, this ingenious and exhilarating innovation was kept busy all day carrying large numbers of people, who eagerly sought a place in the cars.
A trip on the Scenic Railway represents a journey of something over a mile, furnishing a view of the sea and the lands all the way.
The invention has been very successful in America, and is shaping to prove even more so in Blackpool as a popular amusement.
The South Shore pleasure beach people are certainly furnishing some novel forms of entertainment, and the introduction of genuine schemes of outdoor enjoyment for the crowds that visit Blackpool such as the Scenic Railway, can only result in the supply of harmless excitement.
At night the Scenic Railway will be a brilliant blaze of light, for over 3,000 electric lamps are fixed along the track, and in the finely designed frontage, which itself will create a magnificent spectacle.
