The park has today announced that a new modern brand will be rolled out across the park.
From the Press Release:
Pleasure Beach, Blackpool is entering 2006 with a brand new look for the new season.
Mr Funshine – the much-loved face of Britain’s favourite, free tourist attraction – is retiring. In his place will be the sleeker, more sophisticated new corporate identity for Pleasure Beach, which will include an exciting new logo, smart new uniforms and new signage around the park.
The new style logo is clean, crisp and simple and will reflect the type of theme park Pleasure Beach is in 2006 – a modern, stylish resort destination that embraces all kinds of entertainment in a safe and fun environment. The Pleasure Beach logo will appear in several colour schemes depending on use and media and will be introduced in 2006 along with the stylish new staff uniforms and park signage.
These exciting new developments were put in place by former Pleasure Beach Managing Director, Geoffrey Thompson OBE, before he passed away in 2004. His daughter Amanda, now the park’s Managing Director, and her brother Nick are now keen to carry on and implement their father’s plan. Pleasure Beach has changed its logo many times over the years to reflect current trends and the park’s ethos.
A brand new typeface has also been designed especially for Pleasure Beach and has been called GT in memory of Geoffrey Thompson. The exclusive typeface will be used throughout the park from signage to merchandise and park administration.
