Geoffrey Thompson took his first ride on the new Pepsi Max Big One roller coaster earlier today, nearly five years after instigating the project that has brought the tallest and fastest roller coaster ever constructed to the Pleasure Beach.
Media and press invitations have been issued for tomorrow. The first riders outside of the Pleasure Beach fold, will be the 1,000 members of the 235 Club who have paid £18 to guarantee them early access.
The ride is expected to soft open to the public on or before Spring Bank Holiday at the end of the month. A glitzy official opening ceremony will take place later in the summer.
