Richard De Vere, former star of Mystique has died aged 46. He joined the cast of Mystique in 1996 as the master of illusion. After Mystique came to an end, he starred in Beyond Belief for five years, however last year’s production was affected by injury.
Originally from Bolton, he took up magic whilst at school and first performed professionally as a Pontins Bluecoat. He later worked with Bernie Winters, who bequeathed to him his St. Bernard, Schnorbitz who has performed alongside him in his Pleasure Beach performances.
He was also heavily featured in the 1998 documentary series about the park.
