Two bronze dragons stand proudly at the entrance of the new Chinese Puzzle Maze that opened to guests earlier today. The new maze contains hedges, wooden structures and several interactive water features.

Created by famed maze designer Adrian Fisher beneath the Steeplechase and the Roller Coaster, the new maze has been constructed (grown!) over the spring and summer.

Speaking to the West Lancashire Evening Gazette, Adrian Fisher said “Designing a maze for such a densely packed site posed a particular challenge. The previous Pleasure Beach maze was a copy of the traditional Hampton Court maze but I wanted to use all the space available on the new site”

The park’s original maze was closed to aid the construction of Project 2000, but a number of the original privets have been used in this new maze.
