The Wild Mouse and the Derby Racer were built in house by a team led by then park manager Frank Wright.
Reaching speeds of up to 25mph, its 56 horses are positioned four abrest on a circular platform 25 meters in diameter. Built by an in-house team, the ride is based on a design by roller coaster legends Prior and Church who patented the Great American Racing Derby in 1913.
Similar rides continue to operate at Cedar Point, Ohio and Rye Playland, New York.
