Blackpool is not always known for its perfect weather, as such the Pleasure Beach has sought to provide several indoor attractions from the earliest of days. These have often, but not always, been rather sedate, the Black Hole was unusual, in being a thrill ride.

❓Did You Know❓

The Black Hole waltzer in the dark ride was housed in a building that was constructed for the Planetarium. It was later used for the 4D Cinema and the Planet Rock show venue.

The Black Hole was opened in 1987 and offered a traditional Waltzer experience in the dark, complete with an accompaniment of disco lights and loud music.

The ride ran until 2005, when it was replaced by the 4D Cinema.
