Amanda Thompson became Managing Director of the Pleasure Beach company in 2004, however her involvement with the company stretches back to her working on the Pony Ride during her school holidays.

For large parts of her Pleasure Beach career, Amanda’s focus has been on Entertainment directing Hot Ice, Mystique and creating the Eclipse and Forbidden shows.

A key challenge during Amanda’s tenure was the response to the COVID-19 pandemic which was one of the most consequential events in the history of the park, significantly disrupting multiple seasons and events.

Amanda has led the transformation of Pleasure Beach into a resort property with the addition of the Boulevard hotel in 2019. Her tenure has also seen the development of Nickelodeon Land and the introduction of new thrill rides including Icon and Aviktas.
