29/07/1904 – Flying Machine makes first test flight

The new Flying Machine took its first test flight this afternoon. It is hoped that it will open to the public in the coming days.

The construction has been completed less than two months since the corporation approved its erection. It is expected to be a very popular attraction during the rest of the summer season, reaching speeds of 40 miles per hour.
