14/10/1991 – £5million 235ft roller coaster planned for 1994

Earlier today, the park revealed that they are planning to build the tallest roller coaster in the world for the 1994 season. The current record for height is held by Cedar Point in Ohio with their Magnum XL-200 roller coaster standing at 205ft.

The ride is being developed under the codename ‘Project Monster’. The current plan calls for the ride to double back on itself halfway through the circuit with speculative plans to include a water splash.

A planning application has already been lodged with Blackpool Council with a decision expected later this year.
