Red Rum will be in town on 2 September for two equally important engagements.
The triple Grand National winner will open the park’s new triple lane Steeplechase racing roller coaster during the daytime. The new ride has been constructed at the south end of the park, it will be the second such ride to open and the first outside of America.
In the evening, Red Rum will assist with the switching on of the Silver Jubilee Illuminations, he will ‘flick the switch’ by sprinting through an electronic beam.
