Earlier this evening, the first group of guests participated in the inaugral ‘Walk The Big One‘ event, climbing 420 steps to the tip of the iconic structure for a chance to view the park and surrounding coast from a unique vantage point.
Nick Thompson, Deputy Managing Director, said: “The Big One is one of the most iconic roller coasters in the world. It was a world’s first for its sheer height and speed and we want to give riders an experience no other amusement park can give them.”
“Walking the Big One is an amazing experience and it gives the climber a unique view of the park and the rest of the Fylde Coast. It will be a memory that will live with them forever and also a chance to see Blackpool at its best, when the Illuminations are on!”
Further events will take place on 13th, 20th and 27th and October 4th and 11th and can be booked via the park website. Groups are made up of up to six climbers per walk and there will be two climbs on each date. Every climber will receive an exclusive certificate.
