This 1964 video from the Footageforpro.com channel shows the site at Expo 64 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The footage is shot from and has scenes of the exposition’s monorail, which would later be moved to Blackpool.
During this time, it was common for World’s Fairs and similar exhibitions to have amusement midways. These often served as inspiration for new attractions, this was the case of the park’s Cableway, inspired by the attraction at Brussels’ Expo 58.
Additionally, the short lifespan of the events meant that several attractions were relocated to permanent sites after the event’s run came to an end. The Monorail would be relocated from Lausanne and opened at the Pleasure Beach in 1966.
