BLACKPOOL GAZETTE

FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 1987

Thrill-seeking teenagers are being tempted with two new Pleasure Beach rides as part of a £1.5million investment at the Blackpool amusement park.
Firstly there's the Tagada which managing director Mr Geoffrey Thompson sums up as the "the ultimate silly ride".
Forty passengers sit around the perimeter of a circular car which then spins in both directions while tilting up to an angle of 45 degrees and bumping up and down.
Another new arrival is the Black Hole, a fast and furious waltzer in almost total darkness.
In complete contrast, the old-fashioned Carousel is being completely refurbished.
Other new arrivals include the Rainbow, a thrill ride giving 36 punters a space age orbiting sensation and for younger visitors, Nicky's Circus Ride themed on the Big Top.
Upgrading work is being done throughout the park replacing roadways and creating family bar areas and new catering facilities.
