The Big Blue Hotel was the first seafront hotel built in Blackpool for over 20 years when it opened in June of 2003. It was also the first time that the park had entered the accommodation market, after many years of research.
Opened at a cost of £4.5m, the hotel was constructed with 120 rooms, a restaurant, conference centre and a gym. Almost immediately, it was decided to expand the hotel with a new ‘club wing’, adding 40 rooms.
