1994 was a landmark year in the world of roller coasters. Pleasure Beach broke world height and speed records with the opening of the Big One, Nemesis roared into Alton Towers and Drayton Manor opted to stand and deliver with Shockwave.

Euro Theme Park Archive has shared this great report from ITV News at 10, Norman Rees visits each of the new rides and interviews senior representatives from each park, including Geoffrey Thompson OBE.

Since 1994, each of the roller coasters have seen varying levels of modification, however they all remain important rides for their respective parks.
