We have 1,000+ items in our Pleasure Beach collection, however the largest and heaviest is a Red Grand Prix car, #5.
The cars were constructed by Arrow Development with several changes made to them over their service life. The body shape changed, seat belts were added and they were adapted to run with a centre guide rail that was added early in the ride’s operational life.
The petrol cars were replaced with a new electric fleet in 2003. At this time, some of the cars were sold and others were stored by Nick Thompson. Some of these were later sold in 2021, which is when we purchased Red #5. The cars were stored in the Millennium Dome that previously housed the Millennium Bug.
Eventually, we hope to return the vehicle to running condition. When we have updates, they will appear here.
