02/10/2002 – Mrs L. D. Thompson braves Spin Doctor

Earlier today, Mrs L. D. Thompson took on the challenge of the new Spin Doctor ride, aged 99. Sponsored by Walls Cornetto Soft, the ride was officially opened in August.

Before embarking on her journey on the 120ft ride, she said “Rides do not scare me and I have been on so many, especially when I was younger and I have always enjoyed a good roller coaster”.

Mrs Thompson has ridden almost every ride at the park, famously launching PlayStation: The Ride with pop group Boyzone in 1997.
