Name Bowl Slide Opened 1911
After reaching the top of the attraction via an electric chairlift (see left hand side of photo), after a rapid descent riders found themselves into a large bowl that they would encircle until they ran out of momentum.
Like many other rides of the era, part of the appeal was watching fellow visitors enjoy the rides and attractions. To this end, the Bowl Slide had a raised platform above the bowl for spectators.
Although almost all rides of this type have since disappeared, a similar concept is now popular in water parks, Aztec Falls across at the road at Blackpool Sandcastle is an example of this.
