The Ice Drome will shortly be renamed, becoming ‘The Arena‘. It has been known as the Ice Drome since its opening in 1937
Speaking to The Stage, company secretary David Cam explained “In a way we are victims of our own success. Our own shows have become more popular and we have attracted other forms of entertainments, particularly for families and on Sundays. We hope the name change will reflect our aim to open the premises to all kinds or activities for families, not simply ice shows”. The venue has hosted a number of one off events in recent years, including a vist by the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team.
Hot Ice will open in the venue in May.
