The new Revolution roller coaster was officially opened today, the first looping roller coaster in Europe. Proudly standing at the southern end of the park next to the Cyclone, it is precariously cantilevered above other rides and paths below.
The ride is a shuttle roller coaster, meaning that riders will endure the 360-degree loop twice, once forwards and once in reverse.
Built by Arrow Development, who built the famous Steeplechase two years ago, the roller coaster is the latest installation of their Launched Loop concept, with successful examples in both the USA and Japan having opened in the past few years.
