"Set sail on the ride of a lifetime ..."
Pirate Ship rides can be trace its origins back to the turn of the 20th century in Coney Island. Tidal Wave would arrive at the Pleasure Beach in 1980 as part of a bumper season of new attractions.
Its location changed numerous times, operating on both the north and south areas of the park.
It was relocated to Pleasureland, Southport at the end of the 1996 season.

Countless rides have been moved from one area of the park to another to aid development on the tightly packed 42-acre site. These include the Egg Scrambler, Alpine Dodgems, Tidal Wave, Crazy Daisy and The Whip.
