This ride is defunct.

The Sidewinder opened in summer 1981 and operated for just a couple of seasons. The ride was the spiritual successor to the much earlier Dive Bomber. As the name implies, the ride operated on both axis featuring a looping motion but also the ability to perform a large horizontal flat spin too.

The Sidewinder was one of a number of temporary rides set up on the south end of the park during the 1970s and 1980s before more modern permanent rides, fixtures and infrastructure were in place. Others included the Astroliner, Bobslay, Galaxy and Rock O Plane.
