This ride is defunct.

The Joy Wheel was an instant hit when it opened in 1910. It was an extremely simple device – a large flat wheel that a number of riders sat on, unrestrained. The wheel would then spin, with its speed increasing until all but one of its occupants had been ejected.

Furthermore, it perfectly suited the desire of guests of the time to watch other guests have a good time.

The device is thought to be a copy of ‘The Human Roulette Wheel’ that George C. Tilyou opened at Coney Island’s Steeplechase Park in 1907.
