Chinese Puzzle Maze

As the planning for Project 2000 got underway, it became clear that the park’s original Maze attraction would have to be relocated or removed.

It was decided to create a new maze for the 1998 season at the other end of the site under the direction of Adrian Fisher, who had created numerous mazes all over the world. The new site was tightly packed amongst the Steeplechase, Roller Coaster and the Big One.

The new maze was constructed using a number of privets from the previous attraction and introduced several water features, including two large bronze dragons that squirt water across the entrance to the maze.

The original maze was relocated to aid the construction of Valhalla and the new support building behind the Derby Racer. During construction of the Chinese Puzzle Maze in 1998, some of the original privets were used.
