31/12/1997 – Geoffrey Thompson appointed OBE

Earlier this morning, Buckingham Palace announced that Geoffrey Thompson OBE has been appointed The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 1998 New Year Honours.

Mr Thompson was appointed to the role of Managing Director of the Pleasure Beach company in 1976.

The award was granted for services to Tourism.
