A new exhibition at Blackpool’s Grundy Art Gallery opened today, featuring over 60 photographs from the park’s rich history. The exhibition is designed to serve as a tribute to Geoffrey Thompson OBE and Lilian Doris Thompson OBE who both died last year.

Included in the exhibition is the iconic (fabulous!) photograph of Geoffrey Thompson OBE atop an elephant at the opening of the Fliegender Teppich ride.

Amanda Thompson said “I’m proud that the council wish to honour their legacy in a way that will appeal to generations of people who have enjoyed a trip to Pleasure Beach. I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition for myself at the Grundy.”
