A longboat full of Viking raiders (literally) landed on South Shore today, before invading the Pleasure Beach as part of an epic event to provide eager fans with more news about Project 2000.
Viking re-enactment society Regia Anglorum provided an authentic battle, before Eolder himself officially announced that the ride will henceforth be known as ‘Valhalla’, the majestic hall located in Asgard and presided over by the god Odin. Geoffrey Thompson OBE spoke to the crowd in old Norse, “Hael Thoonoo in gocky hall horst”. Translated, that means “Hail to you, in my hall you are welcome”.
Construction began on the special effects laden attraction in 1997, it is expected to open in Spring 2000.
