The park has today welcomed the first Viking voyagers aboard Valhalla, the new £15m dark ride on North Park, located on the site of the former Fun House. It was officially opened today by TV’s Jonathan Ross and his wife Jane Goldman.
During their six minute journey, riders will experience thrilling drops and a myriad of special effects including fire, snow and lightning.
Park teams and representatives from contractors have been working around the clock to finish the epic project which broke ground in 1997 and opened for previews last month.
The ride system has been supplied by Intamin, with effects supplied from a number of companies including UK based Farmer Studios and Technifex of California, USA.
Pricing for the ride is in line with The Big One, costing two A ride tickets.
