As its epic multi-year transformation comes to an end, Valhalla opened for ‘Technical Rehearsals’ this afternoon, giving fans their first glimpse of the reimagined ride.
Since it’s opening in 2000, numerous changes have been made to the ride iteratively, however this recent work represents the largest number of changes. Work has been done on the ride system to improve reliability and refresh a number of components. The largest visible change is the removal of the ride’s second turntable.
Much attention has also been paid to the ride’s effects, with several new scenes introduced. However, it is clear the introduction of new items and the refurbishment of the existing is still being worked on. Therefore, if fans are wanting the ‘full experience’ they may wish to wait.
The ride will continue to operate in this preview mode ahead of an expected grand reopening next month.
