02/11/2000 – First North Western train named after Valhalla

The Valhalla phenomenon continues apace since its official opening in June.

Earlier today a First North Western Class 175 diesel multiple unit was named ‘Valhalla’ in the ride’s honour. The name applied to 175008 was chosen in a First North Western competition in partnership with the Asda supermarket. The name was submitted by 11-year-old Adam Cotton.

The Class 175 vehicles began service with First North Western in June this year and regularly serve destinations in the North West.
